Critical or reflective thinking process refer to comparing current to previous experiences to stimulate complex learning (Costa & Kallick, 2009). The most important part of reflective is where learning and progressing during a problem solving take place, opportunity created for us to look back and think how we actually solved the problems, question ourselves whether we could have done the task differently, whether the result would have come out differently to achieve our objectives, more critically thinking from another perspective. As supported by Gibbs (1988), ” It is not sufficient simply to have an experience in order to learn. Without reflecting upon this experience it may quickly be forgotten, or its learning potential lost. It is from the feelings and thoughts emerging from this reflection that generalisations or concepts can be generated. And it is generalisations that allow new situations to be tackled effectively.” Most important part would be identifying our own personal strengths and weaknesses, not only for now in ENSI207 but future to fit in society

In this first part of the essay, we will focus on the idea of customer value proposition by linking with past experience and knowledge gained from ENSI207 and literature, Each part would be evaluate in depth with how that particular practical helps me to understand that specific topic, finally we will conclude and summarise on what we have been talking about.

A customer value proposition is a strategic method for businesses to communicate the ways to increase value to customers (Payne, From & Eggert, 2017), such as innovation to meet customers’ needs. Meanwhile, value refers to differences between expectations and recognitions of products (Zeithaml,1988), in terms of purchase amount, service standards, and convenience (Ikramuddin,  2017). Due to the intense competition between businesses offering similar products or services in the market, value proposition endorses businesses to differentiate their brand to others by increasing extra values on their product.

Our whole class were separated into different groups and were given a task that involves in value proposition by adding value into the item (tea) that were provided by our supervisor.  Firstly we identify our main competitors from UK only, discussed on how each tea brands have done differently in order to be highlighted among other competitors, as if we taken all the add on advantages on each of the competitors and incorporate them, we would outgrowth limitations and offer the tea alongside maximal value which hopefully increase demand. Some minor discussion problems occur in class, with the lack of leadership, no one took charge or lead the discussion.
Afterwards, once each of the group finished we presented our ideas one by one, before I hear other groups, I was determined that we had done well in order to add value into our item. At the end when we were presenting, each of us presented our own ideas with the possibility of controversy among ourselves. Hearing other group’s and the supervisor’s opinions, I acknowledged our ideas were lack of in-depth notion and very little creativity were involved. For example, thinking outside the box with unrealistic mindset. Although our ideas were realistic, which is a positive factor, however linking back to the definition of customer value proposition, our idea has a lack of creativity to address customer’s goals and needs, which is the main objective in customer value proposition, not just adding value. But instead of adding the right value that suits our target customers by analysing what their needs are first, part of the task is defining the problem itself (Manimala, 2008). Customer value are impacts of innovations and ideas, but also vice vera (Teece, 2010), which indicates links for needs, creativity and innovation. Additionally, Holttinen (2014) suggested that value proposition includes sign, experience, exchange and resources values. In this scenario, value pricing also a type of exchange value, will be an important factor for tea, knowing the amounts customers are willing to pay for. Customising or design of the packaging can possibly be a value thats’ useful. Moreover tackle into customers that product previous excluded. From this experience I have learnt to view in a more diverse manner, looking back realising some possible ideas might be unrealistic at first but it might be actionable to meet customers needs. Looking back for what my group had done, developing our ideas with previous existing ideas, this method is recognised as combinational method. What we could have done is get involve with explorative and possibly transformational, discovering new ideas by the exploration of structured concept.

After doing some further readings on customer value proposition, getting to comprehend an excellent example of value proposition which associate with well-known company Uber. Contrasting Uber with other symbolic transport experience of traveling by taxi. What they did is exactly what we should have done in the activity mentioned previously, identifying problems in taxi experience, and avoid them by using technology wisely and creating online application. Avoiding traditional problematic phone calls for taxi ordering and stress about explaining where you will going to the drivers. Also offer contact payment, bypass problems like worrying whether you have enough money to pay for the ride.

further readings has helped me to determine and conduct broader as mentioned before. It benefits me in the process of fitting into the economic development, business society in a few years time when businesses are involved in figuring out the value proposition of products and services. “What is it that we do that makes interacting with us worthwhile, something people can’t do without?” (Katrina VanHuss, 2015). This topic in value proposition got me thinking and even able to relate to one of my hobby which is collecting sneakers. Entrepreneurship gets me to think, ask myself more questions, different viewing on even my hobby. If I was to take my sneaker hobby into the reselling market, how would different buyers respond to my value proposition? What would be my unique value proposition in order to differ myself from other reseller, in other words other competitors.

To conclude in order to succeed in the business world, it is necessary to identify my own strengths and weaknesses in long term. I will have to be a more circumspect and self-motivated person with the working attributes employers are expecting in employees. Hence, it is significant to identify areas of improvement and step forward every years.
For instant, Communication skills would be a must skill to have in the future, I would definitely need to engage more public speaking and discussion to improve on this skill. In any case I don’t think I am terrified to speak out, yet I was never completely organised or prepared along these lines this may be the reason of me reconsidering before talking as I figure I may have misunderstood something. Yet, learning style is not an easy task to change because it is how I have been nurtured, so I set myself a short term goal of being a person with better communication and critical thinking skills by the end of term 2 to help my progression.

Lens 2: Learning and mindset: Draw on principles of the entrepreneurial mindset (e.g.
Haynie et al., 2010) to reflect on your own experiences of being entrepreneurial

In this part of the essay, we will focus on the idea entrepreneurial mindset, each part would be evaluate in depth with how that particular practical helps me to understand that specific topic, finally we will conclude and summarise.

An entrepreneur needs to be intelligent with creative mind. Although some succeed in many aspects of their life and some did not, yet, most of them do share the same characteristics, theory, and entrepreneurial mindset in order to progress and succeed. By applying this to myself, it can possibly be a great guidance for me to achieve great things smartly and effectively. According to Mohapeloa (2017), an entrepreneurial mindset is define as influencing not only by knowledge, skills, it involves reflection of noticeable behaviour patterns and perspective. Developing our awareness towards environmental and social aspect issues, which could be tackled by sequence of innovations. In addition, it refers to entrepreneurial as the capacity to detect, act, and activate under indeterminate conditions; establishments of an entrepreneurial outlook are metacognitive in nature, and consequently detail how, and with what result, business people plan and illuminate “higher-arrange” subjective systems in the quest for entrepreneurial closures (Haynie et al., 2010). The metacognitive model of entrepreneurial mentality offers vital knowledge into entrepreneurial reasoning and practices; the dynamism and vulnerability inborn in an entrepreneurial setting expects business visionaries to consistently “rethink current strategic actions, organization structure, communications systems, corporate culture, asset deployment, investment strategies.”
In class we were divided into groups to complete bootstrapping challenge which provided an atmosphere of being a real entrepreneur by organising event to students from the university. The objective to get as much profit as possible. I felt excited as it was my first time encountering a task like this, given responsibility to run our own little business. However, our communication and time management skills were poor, so we did not have sufficient discussion. Eventually we decided to run a football video game campaign because this is what my team members good at. I suggested to look for site and console in Cartmel bar, hence we sent one of the group member forward to gather more information or permit for us to host out event. However, after speaking with the porters in charged, we found out the console was out-of-order, it would not be repaired before the deadlines. Subsequently we gathered again, at that moment all of us were worried because we were not sure what would be actionable for our upcoming event. A very negative environment immediately developed with lots of disagreeing. In spite of the fact that toward the end we managed to book a place and borrow a console. Thus, the arranging and acting part did not go as easily as we could have done in the event that we did not abandon it to the last moment with next to no of arranging.

Based on my experience from the bootstrapping challenge, I felt we could have completed it better if we invest more effort on planning and time management. Firstly, I would volunteer for the role of leader since no one is willing to take the responsibility, arrange occasion subtle elements in a formal frame by writing it out, designate distinctive parts to team members to be responsible. Alongside the arranging and acting, we could have recognised issues prior without panicking at the end. A surge and hasty decision was made at the beginning, a greater part of populace in university is not targeted, only male, which is a tremendous disadvantage for making as much benefit as possible. If we could have recognised this earlier and picked another idea, such as facilitating an interesting lecture, which would have included a more assorted target audience. Thus, whether our decision is the right one is debatable. By reflecting back, it provides an opportunity to think in various perspectives. The most disappointed part of this activity is the absence of inside and out arranging which we didn’t distinguish the majority of student’s needs.

Parts of entrepreneurial mindset are about training based on development of past experience. Encourage us to become introspective instead of retrospective. It is an incident that this idea is additionally found in the book ‘Becoming Steve Jobs’.  Schlender (2016) mentioned it is smarter to break down yourself to analyse at the moment, and stop examining past choices; Steve Jobs experienced that out, thus everyone should too. I have polished this thought for a long time. The past cannot be changed, but improvement on the next tasks could.

In my opinion, mindset will help you in numerous territories, but the most vital zone is in your self-awareness, there are sure things about my conduct and gifting that will never change, yet there are different territories I can change. However, it is useful to learn what was taught from experience, everyone are talented with a specific identity and insight that we need to accomplish by taking in the things we can learn. Try not to worry about the things I cannot learn, for example some natural skills I am not talented at like leadership, in this case we should discover somebody who is. Try not to attempt to show yourself aptitudes however do take into maximum advantages on my area of expertise. By practicing having the right entrepreneurial mindset, I believe it will set me up for better self control, which I think is key, figuring out how to have self control over everything in life.

To conclude, In order to succeed in the business world, possibly entrepreneurship in a few years time, it is necessary to identify my own personal strengths and weaknesses, I will have to be a more circumspect and self-motivated person with the working attributes employers are expecting in employees. Hence, it is significant to identify areas of improvement and step forward every years.
For this experiences, time management and organisation skills can be learnt by planning ahead and using time wisely. There will be an increment in workload as we grow up, so I wish to perform a more time efficient manner at the end of this year.Yet, learning style is not an easy task to change because it is how I have been nurtured, so I set myself a short term goal of being a person with better communication and critical thinking skills by the end of term 2 to help my progression.

Lens 3: Learning from failure: Drawing on the concepts of learning and failure, reflect on ways you have learned from failure during activities on the module and/or in your own life

In our workshops we have done a selection of activities as well as outside class with the bootstrapping challenge, this has make a huge difference for me to approach entrepreneurship comfortably. And it is generalisations that allow new situations to be tackled effectively.” Most important part would be identifying our own personal strengths and weaknesses, not only for now in ENSI207 but in the future to fit in society when we come across situations where we need to be creative. We need to identify opportunities when it comes by, on the other hand when we come across failure, how we learn from experience and improve next task.

In this part of the essay, we will focus on the concept of learning and failure. evaluate in depth with how that particular practical helps me to understand that specific topic, finally we will conclude and summarise on what we have been talking about.

Disappointments help to set our desires of progress. It is through disappointment that we comprehend everyone’s meaning of accomplishment differ and will advance throughout upcoming career. Another key factor learnt is the concept that entrepreneurs are all curious in nature. We seek after our interests through entrepreneurship since we cannot discover the appropriate responses. This greed of interests frequently drive us to seek after various open doors, other innovation or ideas, a considerable lot of which will be less than ideal or against the exhortation of others. Studies from Sitkin (1992) recommended learning procedures might contrast contingent upon the seriousness of disappointments, with profoundly cataclysmic occasions prompting limited data handling and unbending nature. Disappointment encounter offers esteem since it advances the experience and prompts more hearty causal inductions than progress encounter alone. Meaning experience of failure help us to add value on ourselves, which is similar to the concept of value proposition.

One of the greatest second thoughts business people would have is not attempting and subsequently pondering “consider the possibility that might?.” This aching for learning and answers provide insight in the future to see how to run organisations or businesses better, and what to stay away from, as we might experience from past experience, business people place more emphasis with every disappointment.

I think spaghetti and marshmallow challenge we did in the workshop can be related to the concept of learning and failure. We were given a limited amount of marshmallow but with unlimited spaghetti to build the highest building, which infers to operate at the best possible output with the resources available in business scenario. In my group, most of us had done this before, so we started off by planning and started building right away, however we did not have a great structure, so our building collapsed. Later on during the task, we were given an opportunity to merge with another groups, by all means combining our resources to start again. We discussed with the other group, linking back to what we talked about before about failure which offers value, we were then able to identify what would work and what would not. At the end we built the highest structure and won the competition, all group members were relieved that a merger was taken place. I acknowledge the statement that Sitkin (1992) mentioned, ‘Learning through failure: the strategy of small losses.’ We were able to learn from failure and make good use of past experience into next task.
Lack of communication as refer to our first attempt occur, such as in the real society, between managers and employees. Also in some case between each employees in this case between each members of the team. Whether the situation is in a large or small society, lack of communication or poor communication most likely leads to failure for task. Which then it will be a loss loss situation for either employees  and the managers.

To conclude, in order to succeed in the business world, possibly entrepreneurship in a few years time, it is necessary to identify my own personal strengths and weaknesses, not only for now in ENSI207 but in the future to fit in society well. I will have to be a more circumspect and self-motivated person with the working attributes employers are expecting in employees. Hence, it is significant to identify areas of improvement and step forward every years. From these three critical incidents perhaps experiences will be a better wording in this scenario, I figured out that I have to strengthen my communication skills, activeness in class, confidence to speak, time management, organisation skills, leadership, collaboration skills, planning and analysing skills. Communication skills would be a must skill to have in the future, I would definitely need to engage more public speaking and discussion to improve on this skill. In any case I don’t think I am terrified to speak out, yet I was never completely organised or prepared along these lines this may be the reason of me reconsidering before talking as I figure I may have misunderstood something. Meanwhile, time management and organisation skills can be learnt by planning ahead and using time wisely. There will be an increment in workload as we grow up, so I wish to perform a more time efficient manner at the end of this year. Lastly, analysing skills can be enhanced by thinking from more different aspects and considering how it links up to other matters. I would become a questioning and thinking person with good communication skills if I successfully changed my learning patterns. Yet, learning style is not an easy task to change because it is how I have been nurtured, so I set myself a short term goal of being a person with better communication and critical thinking skills by the end of term 2 to help my progression.
